Rochester Electronics stocks over 12 billion semiconductor die to support legacy electronic applications with manufacturing capabilities for over 70,000 device types. Semiconductor lifecycles are under constant pressure, and Rochester continuously evaluates opportunities with our customers and supplier partners. We understand that support goes beyond simply sourcing die; it requires complete manufacturing and test solutions.

We recognize the need to provide ongoing support for long-lifecycle applications. The 5V NOR Flash was once the main nonvolatile memory in embedded applications and was available from multiple suppliers. However, many suppliers ended support as technology progressed, and demand diminished. Additional migration from lead-frame packages, such as SOIC and TSOP, left customers without an available solution. 

To address customers’ needs and continue providing market support, Rochester has acquired Spansion 5V NOR Flash die and has developed test and manufacturing capabilities for 44-pin SOIC and 48-pin TSOP solutions.

Based on the acquired die, the current offering includes 2Mb, 4Mb, and 8Mb solutions, with future offerings including 16Mb and other configurations.
