Rochester Extends Availability of Cypress Neuron Devices Beyond EOL

Keeping control networks moving with authorized inventory

For more than two decades, the Neuron® product line has served as a foundational component of LonWorks® control networks. Originally introduced by Cypress and Echelon, these networking processors were designed for connected systems that require dependable, real-time communication and long operational lifespans. Today, Neuron devices remain embedded in industrial infrastructure where reliability and continuity are essential.

Neuron processors continue to support complex control environments such as elevator systems, factory automation platforms, and other networked industrial applications. In these systems, the networking processor is deeply integrated into mature hardware and software architectures that have been validated over years of deployment. Redesigning or replacing this technology is often impractical, expensive, and time-consuming, making sustained device availability a critical requirement.

To support these long lifecycle needs, Infineon and Rochester Electronics maintain an exclusive partnership that extends support for the Neuron device family beyond end of life. Through this established relationship, Rochester is authorized to supply genuine Neuron devices to customers who continue to rely on these processors.

As part of this exclusive agreement, Rochester supports the CY7C53150 and CY7C53120 device families, ensuring ongoing availability for existing designs and long term deployments.
