As power management and energy conservation become more prominent in applications such as industrial systems, consumer electronics, and electric vehicles, market demand for MOSFETs and IGBTs has continued to grow. In this area, Infineon’s acquisition of International Rectifier (IR), has resulted in an exceptional lineup of MOSFETs, IGBTs, and Power Management devices available to meet the industries’ demand including AEC-Q100 Automotive Grade requirements.
For MOSFET devices Infineon has the OptiMOS™, StrongIRFET™ and CoolMOS™ solutions which reduces footprint, boosts current ratings, and optimizes thermal performance across a wide range of industrial and automotive applications. The OptiMOS™ and StrongIRFET™ cover the low and medium voltage power MOSFETs in applications such as switch-mode power supplies (SMPS), battery-powered applications, motor control, drives, inverters, and computing.
The revolutionary CoolMOS™ power MOSFET supports higher voltage requirements covering 500V-950V. These devices set new standards in the field of energy efficiency and offer a significant reduction of conduction, switching, and driving losses, and enable high power density as well as efficiency for superior power conversion systems.
From 600V up to 1600V, Infineon offers a wide range of IGBT voltage classes to meet the requirements of many applications. The discrete IGBT package portfolio contains SMD (Surface Mount Device) packages likeD²PAK, DPAK, SOT-223, and through-hole packages like TO220, TO220FP, TO247, TO247-4, TO247PLUS, TO-247PLUS-4, and TO247 Advanced Isolation packages. Completing the IGBT offering are their cutting-edge IGBT power modules in different families, configurations, current ratings as well as IGBT chip generations. The well-known 62 mm, Easy and Econo families, IHM / IHV B-series, Prime-PACK™, and XHP™ power modules are all equipped with the latest IGBT technologies.
To provide long-term support for these critical products Infineon has held a partnership with Rochester Electronics for over 15 years, both directly and through its acquired manufacturers such as International Rectifier and Cypress Semiconductor. To support customer requirements, we stock a 100% authorized and guaranteed inventory of both active and end-of-life devices, in addition, our authorized Build-to-Order (BTO) program provides licensed manufacturing on devices that were otherwise slated for obsolescence.
Our current inventory covers 40 million MOSFETs, 4.4 million IGBTs, and 77,000 IGBT modules with many of these currently experiencing extended lead-time and availability challenges.
