Rochester and ams OSRAM Support Extended Product Lifecycles

Over 40 million 100% Authorized LEDs in stock

Over the past decade, LEDs have proliferated across all markets. ams OSRAM has positioned itself as a LED market leader for the automotive, industrial, and medical segments. Unlike consumer and general lighting applications, a common aspect of these markets is a need for a steady, unchanging supply, even as technological advancements press for change.

Despite the seemingly straightforward nature of LEDs, their multitude of features and the wide range of utilized applications create a complex set of choices that must be considered in the supply chain. Color and light intensity are two common attributes that are “binned” into selective groups, allowing customers to source consistent product versions. However, as technology advances and processes change, these attributes can vary, making it harder to find specific bins. These variations, along with binning options on the forward voltage (Vf) characteristics, and on a broad selection of package options, present unique challenges for the LED supply chain.

As part of ams OSRAM's dedication to supporting applications with extended product lifecycles, they have partnered with Rochester Electronics. Rochester has recently obtained an inventory of over 40 million high-quality LEDs. Rochester’s stock includes a diverse range of color options, package types, and quality grades, including automotive-qualified devices. As part of this offering, are many of ams OSRAM’s popular family brands, such as Duris®, OSLON®, SYNIOS®, are available.

To enhance the LED options available, Rochester has received stock of over 3 million units of LED drivers and other power management products, enabling comprehensive and more complete solutions.
