As part of our commitment, we are fully certified to ISO-14001, which is an internationally agreed standard that sets out the requirements for an environmental management system. Adhering to ISO-14001 compliance, Rochester ensures that:

• All air emissions are well below permit requirements

• We produce zero hazardous spills onto land or unintentional releases into the air

• 100% of lead on-site is recycled

• All hazardous waste is processed by a licensed 3rd party vendor, ensuring waste is recycled/reclaimed in accordance with EPA/MADEP requirements.

In our efforts to preserve the environment and maintain environmentally sustainable processes we are continuously reviewing our manufacturing inputs as well as outputs to ensure EPA compliance. Waste reduction is always a top priority. With recycling programs in place, we can capture waste metals and remove them from the waste stream for recycling. Intensive chemical analysis is performed within our manufacturing program to optimize performance and reduce waste wherever possible.

Looking ahead, Rochester is committed to further improvement which includes continuous environmental training for employees, ongoing assessment of material for process substitution, and assessment for LED lighting and implementation of air sampling systems and EPA Air Scrubbers.
