PMC-Sierra’s semiconductors have aided in the development of telecom and networking applications. In the mid-1990s PMC changed the optical networking chipset market by introducing the first OC-12 (622 Mbit/s) S/UNI transceiver chips. Fast forward to today, and post their acquisition by Microchip Technology, Rochester Electronics continues to support many of PMC’s end-of-life (EOL) devices through our 100% authorized partnership with Microchip.
Among the PMC-Sierra and Microchip inventory available are the TEMUX and TEMAP devices for T1/E1/J1/VT/TU applications, Freedm-HDLC controllers, the S/UNI, SPECTRA, and ARROW SONET- SDH Interface devices, along with the WSE, NSE and TSE switches. Additionally, several network processors and networking SOCs are now in stock.
Rochester Electronics has been an authorized distributor and licensed manufacturer of Microchip Technology for over 10 years, through their acquisitions of Atmel, Micrel, and SMSC, stocking a broad of range devices including analog, connectivity, and FPGA/PLD.
