100% Authorized Long Lifecycle ARM CPU-based Microprocessor Solutions

Over 2,500 part numbers and 10 million devices in stock

Rochester Electronics supports extended lifecycle availability of ARM CPU-based microprocessors and microcontrollers by providing 100% authorized products through partnerships with Analog Devices, NXP, Texas Instruments, Infineon/Cypress, and Microchip/Atmel.

There are many advantages to using multi-sourced CPU cores such as ARM in your microprocessor and microcontroller designs, but eliminating obsolescence is not one of them.

ARM core architectures allow design portability by providing a common instruction set and support tools, simplifying migration to new designs. A key benefit of the ARM ecosystem is suppliers who leverage their expertise and intellectual property to provide optimized solutions for a wide variety of controllers, processors, and applications-specific SOCs. However, using a device with supplier-specific peripherals, packages, and pinouts shifts back into a propriety solution.

Understanding that the design is not truly multi-sourced must be incorporated into its lifecycle management. A common core offers flexibility within a product family, and some suppliers provide migration paths to newer families. However, as the product family matures, availability can become limited as production shifts to the newer families.

To help customers manage these designs, Rochester Electronics is partnered with several leading ARM microcontroller and microprocessor solutions suppliers, including NXP, Infineon, Texas Instruments, Analog Devices, and Microchip/Atmel. Our 100% authorized and guaranteed inventory includes active and obsolete lifecycle devices of both Cortex-M microcontrollers and Cortex-A microprocessors.

The current stock profile includes 7.5 million units of Cortex-M4, Cortex-M3, and Cortex-M0 microcontrollers, along with 1 million units of Cortex-A8, Cortex-A53, Cortex-A9, and Cortex-A72 microprocessors. Our product portfolio includes many recognizable supplier family brands such as Kinetis, i.MX, QorIQ, PSOC, Traveo, Sitara, Stellaris, and OMAP.

For older designs, it is worth noting a selection of ARM7, ARM9, and ARM11 microcontrollers (many of which have already been obsoleted).
