Q. What does being supplier authorized mean and why is it important?
A. Manufacturers select companies to be authorized after careful analysis of their capabilities, systems, quality and service. When dealing with a "supplier authorized" source you can be assured of receiving the best possible support available. NEDA (National Electronics Distributor Association) promotes supplier authorization and more information can be seen on their Web site - www.nedaassoc.org.

Q. There are other companies who claim to provide discontinued products. What's the difference between those companies and Rochester?
A. Most companies who make these claims are typically brokers who are sourcing devices from various excess inventories around the world. These companies are in no way authorized by the original manufacturers, and product quality needs to be a major concern. Rochester is fully authorized and all product is 100% factory direct for unquestionable quality. Rochester also provides the world's largest supply of aftermarket devices, including over 5 billion devices in stock and over 10 billion die in stock. Rochester is a continued manufacturing source of over 20,000 devices.

Q. As an aftermarket manufacturer, how does Rochester continue to manufacture devices that have been discontinued by the original manufacturer?
A. As part of Rochester's supplier authorizations, Rochester purchases all remaining die and tooling once the manufacturer's EOL (end-of-life) cycle has completed. From this material, Rochester is able to continue manufacturing with exact packaging, test programs and systems as the original manufacturer.

Q. Many semiconductor manufacturers no longer support military-grade devices. Does Rochester continue to support military products?
A. Rochester has always been committed to providing a quality source of supply for military-grade devices. This includes military temp through QML certified products. Rochester currently manufactures many military devices that were long ago discontinued by the original supplier, and will continue production as long as there is a need.

Q. What quality certifications has Rochester received?
A. Rochester is ISO9001:2000 certified through TUV and a QML certified manufacturer, covering Rochester Electronics' Quality System, manufacturing and test facilities with Lab Suitability granted by DSCC for all testing including burn-in, life test and electrical test.
